Chapter 3
Is this Paradise?
I wake up,
No memory of who I was,
Who I had been…
I feel…
Lost
I look around myself
I see rolling green hills,
and a dark forest in the distance.
I feel something weighing my shoulder down,
A satchel,
A simple brown satchel with a leather cord.
I open it,
Inside is a small silver mirror.
When I look at it
I do not see my reflection,
But a voice that pops in my head,
What would you like to see…?
Many things pop into my head
I only think one thing,
Who am I?
The voice/mirror makes a sound,
I suspect is supposed to be…
A laugh.
It explains to me…It explains to me?!
I cannot do that for you. You must find out who you are yourself.
Can I at least see myself? I think to him.
Of course my lady
The mirror changes and I see my reflection,
A girl with cropped blond hair,
With red streaks coursing through my hair.
Blood red.
Fair blue eyes,
That looked oddly familiar.
Uh, duh it’s my eye.
Tell me do I look pretty…or beautiful?
If you want me to think you are beautiful than I will.
I ignore the mirror.
I turn
To what I hope is…
My destiny.

Chapter 2
Never Paradise
Its dark,
All I see is darkness,
Darkness …
My fingers graze a cold stone wall,
I hear a distant drip of water.
My fingers softly touch
A cold metal cylinder,
The bars of my prison.
Everything is so cold,
So cold…
I feel slight warmth,
It comes from an opening,
My fingers scan the wall,
I feel more metal,
The metal I cannot see.
I do not know if it is dark.
Because I am blind,
I cannot see.
Cannot see…
I sit down and hear the puff of dust rise from the floor.
My fingers touch a stone,
Maybe an escape.
I push it back and forth until I am tired.
I lay my head down,
And close my unseeing eyes,
I try to fall asleep in the well-known darkness.
A plea in my mind with hope,
That someone will hear me.
But I only hear myself,
Help me…
Its dark,
All I see is darkness,

Chapter 1
Somewhere in Paradise
Paradise
A shimmering river of gold streams past.
Looking thick,
But is like normal flowing water.
And as the emerald leaves blow silently in the breeze,
I sit,
A beautiful girl with golden locks,
A golden halo on my head.
My deep-set eyes of ocean blue,
Sparkle with laughter.
My gorgeous pink dress rumpled
And dirty
Is spread out
On the ground.
It’s my favorite of all.
The one that I explore in.
Not really.
I take the dress off,
My tan (and newly washed) breeches underneath,
The much more comfortable clothes,
That I prefer.
I pull off my hideous shawl,
The hot pink color hurts my eyes.
Giggling,
I slip on my loose fitting cotton chemise,
It flows softly over my slim figure.
I am an adventurer,
Not a princess,
I hope my damsel in distress,
Is a handsome prince.
I bite into an orange fruit.
Unlike a fruit you’ve seen before,
Its juice dribbles down my chin,
A pink stream of flavor I taste.
I steal a glance at my reflection in the water,
I am so beautiful
I say.
Then I laugh,
My laugh is a melody of song,
Thick with a tint of honey,
Is what they say.
I shake my hair loose,
Of its prison, a loose bun,
Untop of my head,
Golden curls cascade out of a sparkling brooch
I’m ready for my adventure.
I walk through forest of sparkling green,
Across rivers of extraordinary blue,
Until I reach the place that I started,
The beginning of my short journey,
The beginning of the end of my journey,
I sit down and smile,
Welcome to paradise
